TUSSIMONT COUGH SYRUP alleviates the irritation caused by a cough, relieves congestion of the airways, liquefies tenacious and congested bronchial mucous and hastens the removal of the secretion by coughing. The liquid extracts of thyme leaves and senega root have a secretolytic, bronchospasmolytic and expectorant effect. Thyme oil contained in the extract also possesses disinfectant (antimicrobial) properties and has a beneficial effect on the gastrointestinal tract.

The senega saponins promote secretion by the bronchial mucous membrane and the respiratory tract and can in this way also remove tenacious mucous plugs. Bitter orange extract has an aromatic odour, a bitter, aromatic taste and is used as a flavouring agent. TUSSIMONT COUGH SYRUP alleviates the irritation caused by a cough, relieves congestion of the airways, liquefies tenacious and congested bronchial mucous and hastens the removal of the secretion by coughing.

For the symptomatic treatment of a dry cough and catarrh in the upper respiratory tract which occur as a result of the common cold.
Adults and young people from the age of 12 should take 2 teaspoons of TUSSIMONT COUGH SYRUP every 2 – 3 hours up to 6 times a day in acute cases. Children from 2 – 11 years old should take 1 tea- spoon 4 times a day.
If the symptoms become less severe, the dose has to be reduced by an appropriate amount.
Frequent intake is more important than taking a large amount, which is why frequent intake at short intervals is recommended.

TUSSIMONT COUGH SYRUP is suitable for diabetics although a sugar content (sucrose) of 0.26 bread units per teaspoon (5 ml) is to be taken into consideration in the case of diabetics.

This medicinal product contains 7,5 % V/V of alcohol. With a maximum dose of 2 teaspoons (10 ml), this corresponds to an alcohol content of 0,6 g. Consequently, TUSSIMONT COUGH SYRUP may not be given to alcoholics. Caution is required in the case of patients who suffer from hepatic disease or seizures.

TUSSIMONT COUGH SYRUP is free of gluten and lactose. Therefore it is possible to take syrup during celiac disease and lactose intolerance.

100 g solution of TUSSIMONT COUGH SYRUP contain:
10,0 g thyme liquid extract
3,0 g senega liquid extract
5,0 g bitterorange liquid extract
50,0 g sugar

Purified water, ethanol 96 %, as preservatives methyl parahydroxybenzoate and propyl parahydroxybenzoate are used as excipients.
